Joanna Lopez, LPC (she/her)
Joanna Lopez (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in supporting individuals through the challenges of trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. She approaches therapy with deep curiosity and openness to each client’s story, meeting them with compassion, understanding, and a commitment to exploring their experiences at a pace that feels right for them. Her therapeutic approach integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), empowering clients to process trauma, gain deeper self-awareness, and foster emotional healing in a safe and supportive environment. Joanna also incorporates attachment-focused EMDR to help individuals heal from relational trauma.
Joanna recognizes the profound role of culture, identity, and heritage in shaping our experiences. She acknowledges how cultural narratives, societal expectations, and historical factors influence well-being. Having worked with immigrant populations, volunteered in Argentina and Colombia, and lived in other countries, she offers culturally affirming care that supports personal healing while addressing the systemic factors that impact mental health.
Drawing from evidence-based modalities, Joanna tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Her work is rooted in curiosity and focuses on helping clients understand how their past experiences shape their emotional health and relationships. Through this collaborative and empathetic process, Joanna supports clients in strengthening their resilience, finding clarity, and making meaningful shifts toward emotional balance and well-being.
