Learning Objectives (2 per training hour): 

Objective 1: By the end of this training, participants will be able to understand trauma and its impact on the clients they work with, as demonstrated by the posttraining quiz. 

Objective 2: By the end of this training, the participants will be able to recognize and assess treatment barriers due to trauma, as demonstrated by the posttraining quiz. 

Objective 3: By the end of this training, the participants will learn how trauma can present in clients that may not identify with having a history of trauma or traumatic experiences, as demonstrated in the posttraining quiz. 

Objective 4: By the end of this training, the participants will have a basic understanding of Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy/Somatic Work, as demonstrated in the posttraining quiz.

9:00am- 9:30am: Review of Trauma and Trauma-Focused Therapy

9:30am-10:00am: Barriers to Treatment and How Trauma can Present in Clients

10:00am-10:10am: Short Break  

10:10am- 11:00am: Overview of IFS, EMDR, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Trainer Bios:

Brooke Eaton Lewis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Co-Founder of Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy. Brooke is an EMDRIA approved EMDR trainer and consultant who specializes in complex trauma, attachment, and dissociation across the life span. Currently Brooke blends her training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR to provide Integrative EMDR Intensive Therapy to clients in the United States.

Lauren H. Steele is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Co-Founder of Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy. Lauren is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR Therapist and Somatics Practitioner who specializes in treating adults with complex and developmental trauma, and dissociative symptoms. Currently Lauren incorporates her training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR to provide Integrative EMDR Intensive Therapy to clients in the United States.
